AmCham-Jordan in partnership with TechWadi “2018 Jordan-U.S. Investment Forum.”

Supporting Jordan and U.S. enterprises by providing information based on their inquiries and interest in the following areas:

    • Market information.
    • Product assessment.
    • Specialized trade fairs and exhibitions held in the U.S.
    • Products HS code and/or customs tariff.
    • Rules of Origin requirements: JUSFTA or GSP.
    • Guidance on U.S. FDA registration.
    • Standards and labeling requirement

The program aims to provide export outreach and promotion activities to Jordanian businesses to help them reach U.S. partners and increase business connections between both countries. 

    • Technical assistance program to diversify & grow Jordan’s goods and services export to the U.S.
    • Delivers export enhancing firm-level competitiveness tools in key sectors.
    • Provides export outreach & promotional activities to designed to access U.S. partners.
    • Targets competitive promising industries that are strong export candidates.

Companies wishing to enter the U.S. market can benefit from the Export Readiness Assessment services to help elevate a company’s capabilities to meet the special requirements of the U.S. market.

 2. Investment

AmCham-Jordan provides members with specialized export, and import support services, including:

  • Promoting specific Investment opportunities.
  • Providing information on Investment rules and requirements.
  • Assistance in Establishment.

 3. Policy and Advocacy

AmCham-Jordan believes that the modernization of economic policy is key to positive growth that contributes to sustainable economic development. To ensure better policies that are more equitable and more effective, they are best developed through a collaborative processed that is based on research and best international practices. 

This work is carried out by AmCham-Jordan within the work of the  National Tijara Coalition Policy & Advocacy Committee, a public private committee works to bridge these gaps by building consensus and finding win-win solutions.

 4. Training & Capacity Building

AmCham-Jordan offers new training and capacity building programs to develop talent for today’s business.

Our cost-effective workshops and seminars are targeted to help companies overcome challenges facing them when growing their business abroad, with a special focus on the U.S. market. All training are offered by subject matter experts and practitioners and are developed to address the specific needs of Jordanian companies and entrepreneurs.

The Counselor Salesperson (Sales & Negotiations skills)



Offered in partnership with Wilson Learning SEM, one of the world’s top sales training companies.

Description:

Remaining viable in today’s business environment requires salespeople who can respond to customers’ business needs, priorities and interests better than the competition. The Counselor Salesperson (CSP) uses a four-step consultative selling process that helps salespeople transition from simply making transactions to solving real business problems. Offered in partnership with the Jordan Better Workplace Association, an NGO specialized in promoting the rules and skills for a workplace that is more efficient and effective.

Description:

The importance of academic background cannot be understated yet, interpersonal skills also play a major role in the employee’s performance. Investing in your employees’ soft skills is a key driver for your organization’s growth and success. Soft skills are the “art” of doing things and the communication ability that guide your employees on how to interact with co-workers to promote professionalism and ensure a more productive and efficient working environment.

 5. AmCham-Jordan University Internship Program  2020 – 2021

The AmCham-Jordan’s University Student Internship Program is implemented in partnership with the University of Jordan and the Yarmouk University with support from the U.S. Embassy in Amman.

The goals of this Program is to develop student career options, knowledge about the labor market in Jordan, to help develop students’ employability skills, as well as provide businesses with a suitable pipeline for its new staff.

The Program is part of AmCham-Jordan’s community outreach initiatives that aims to support the career path development for young Jordanian university students, through linking them to job training opportunities with leading Jordanian Businesses.

In 2020 and despite the challenges brought about as a result of the global heath pandemic, the Program was successful in providing specialized soft skills training and internship placements for over 80 students.

Host companies offer students a Profession-based internships placement where they will be paired with a senior member of staff to work and gain practical experience and exposure.

The program is supported by over 40 leading Jordanian Companies.
