What is the Export Growth Pathway Program?

AmCham-Jordan launched its Export Growth Pathway Program (EGP) 2021. The program aims to provide export outreach and promotion activities to Jordanian businesses to help them reach U.S. partners and increase business connections between both countries. The EGP targets promising competitive industries, including manufacturers of processed food, personal protective equipment (PPE), bedding and mattresses, fertilizers, construction, sanitizers, surface disinfectants and chemical products, as well as information technology services.

The program is implemented in partnership with the leading international development consulting firm- Pragma Corporation, and supported by USAID Middle East Economic Growth Best Practices Project (MEG).

What is happening in the EGP Program?

AmCham-Jordan’s field visits to participating companies’ factories and showrooms with Mr. Henri Stetter, Senior Private Sector and Export Development Expert at Pragma Corporation, to assess production capability and product eligibility.

After the successful launch of the EGP Program, AmCham-Jordan began the onboarding process of the Jordanian companies who have applied. Through this twelve-month program, eligible companies will be offered technical assistance and will be connected to specialized seasoned experts in the U.S.

For the First time after COVID, AmCham-Jordan Physically Participates the Sweets & Snacks Expo 2021

Under the Export Growth Program, AmCham-Jordan physically participates in the Sweets & Snacks Expo 2021, for the first time after the COVID pandemic, representing five Jordanian companies which have signed a partnership agreement to be part of AmCham-Jordan’s Export Growth Pathway Program. These companies operate in the Confectionary, Snack, and Packaging sectors, which are ready to export companies, in compliance with the American market standards, and have FDA Registration, as well as other valuable certifications.

The Sweets & Snacks Expo is the largest confectionery and snack event in North America, Indiana, taking place from June 23rd-25th, 2021, bringing together thousands of confectionery and snack industry professionals from hundreds of different confectionery and snack companies. Attendees can learn about the latest product innovations from exhibitors, dive into confectionery and snack trends and insights through the show’s education sessions and connect with their peers through the show’s endless networking opportunities. Ms. Raghad Alkhojah, Deputy CEO & Head of Business Development at AmCham-Jordan, along with Ms. Esther Psarakis, Senior International Market Linkages Expert at Pragma Corporation will be working the booth and representing the five Jordanian companies through conducting B2B meeting with potential U.S. buyers, industry leaders, and distributors.

This activity comes as part of assisting companies in their post- COVID recovery process by leveraging from the Jordan – U.S. Free Trade Agreement (FTA), explore opportunities, grow their business and to promoting two-way trade between Jordan and the United States.

The EGP on its way with seventeen (17) companies working with specialized marketing consultants in the U.S. to support Jordanian manufacturers and exporters (members and non- members) in export promotion and increase competitiveness in the U.S. market.

With the support and guidance of USAID Middle East Economic Growth Best Practices Project (MEG) and Pragma Corporation, AmCham-Jordan will deliver targeted, demand-driven consulting and training services by deploying U.S.-based experts to provide opportunities for Jordanian companies to facilitate U.S. market access and increase export sales. Participating companies are expected to increase their international competitiveness and record increase export sales.

Pictures of virtual meetings held between U.S.-based consultants and EGP participating companies to talk about the market research component, current market trends and consumer habits for various products, as well as the strategy moving foreword for each company.
