The Role and Function of the National Public –Private Partnership Unit under the New PPP Law

February 19th, 2020

We were honored to have H.E. Mr. Mahmoud Al-Khoshman Advisor to the Prime Minister & Head of the National PPP Program, as our main guest speaker during the executive session on the Role and Function of the newly established Public – Private Partnership (PPP) Unit under the new PPP law issued in 2020.

Mr. Khoshman shed light on the role of the government in putting a lot of effort to regulate PPP aggressively applying transparent mechanism and timelines to ensure effective continuity and success of the project. He also mentioned the priority PPP projects in the pipeline.

“I for one have been very keen for a very long time on establishing an empowered entity preferably linked to the Prime Ministry that watches over the important strategic projects, and takes a holistic view overseeing their execution and coordination at cabinet level at the Prime Ministry.

Rather than the distribution amongst several government bodies, and in sometimes at lower levels, that have all too often ended in the projects being diverted, diluted or never seeing the light.”

Extending our deepest appreciation again to Jordan Bromine, in supporting AmCham – Jordan in moving forward !
