PROMOTING INVESTMENT & BUSINESS CLIMATE REFORMS IN JORDAN’S ICT SECTOR

Session Title: Challenges for Investment in Jordan’s ICT Sector, discussing the Business & Regulatory Environment

In the context of the EU-OECD Programme on Investment in the Mediterranean, the OECD is organising a private
sector dialogue on promoting investment and business climate reforms in Jordan’s ICT sector. The purpose of the
meeting is to discuss the main challenges facing the ICT sector with the aim of selecting a number of policy priorities
to improve the enabling environment for investments in ICT. Participants will be asked to provide their views on
various challenges, such as the business and regulatory environment, infrastructure, ICT costs, skills, and the
need for public-private dialogue to promote investment in Jordan’s ICT sector.

Format and guidance for the virtual discussion

The webinar will be structured around the main challenges for investing in the ICT sector. The discussion will be
guided by an issues paper on the ICT sector in Jordan with a set of questions for participants. It will be moderated
by the OECD and introduced by brief interventions (5 minutes). Following these, all participants will have the
possibility to share their views through an open discussion.
