Register: Opportunities in Jordan’s Services Sector

Register: Opportunities in Jordan’s Services Sector

Description:

The seminar is the 6th event in a series of activities held throughout 2021 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the entry into force of the Jordan-U.S. Free Trade Agreement. The events are designed to introduce Jordanian companies, manufacturers, and exporters as well as policy makers to opportunities, new trends, and available support tools to help grow their business with the U.S. & regional partners.

This seminar is dedicated to exploring opportunities in Jordan’s services industry, that dominates the Jordanian economy and contributes over 60% of GDP. However, Jordan service exports remain below industry potentials given the high levels of education and skills, specifically in professional sectors which require deeper levels of liberalization among partner countries.

In this seminar, we will hear from global leaders and experts on trends in trade in service sector at the WTO and bilaterally levels, and what are some of the technical prerequisites to expanding Jordan’s service exports such as mutual recognition agreements and the importance of capturing export data.  We will consider the competitiveness in Jordanian services, possible keys to success and how to profit from the preferential arrangements to grow Jordan’s export with the specific focus on the U.S. market. Ending with a panel discussion that will allow participants to engage directly with the experts on key issues.
