IFC Jordan NQI Project: New Traceability Regulation by JFDA
Amcham2023-05-02T10:45:43+00:00Under the patronage of Prof. Nizar Mehdat, JFDA’s Director General and in collaboration with JFDA and IFC an extended workshop was set up as a Final Event & Presentation of the New Traceability Regulation, under the title of ‘IFC Jordan NQI Project: New Traceability Regulation by JFDA’.
The workshop was the third meeting of the steering committee of the IFC Jordan National Quality Infrastructure project, discussing the importance of National Traceability System for Business Development and Export Grow.
The NQI project aims to improve the competitiveness of Jordan’s producers in international markets and thus increase Jordanian exports as to help strengthen Jordan’s national quality infrastructure, including the development of a National Quality Policy and related regulations.
Welcoming remarks were given by Mr. Samer S Judeh, AmCham-Jordan’s Chairman, stating the importance of operating in an enabling environment to ensure the smooth flow trade. Followed by, Prof. Nizar Mhaidat, JFDA’s Director General stating the importance of Traceability for the Food Sector Development as well as export growth.
AmCham-Jordan’s Legal Advisor Adv. Lana Nimri introduced the necessary Legal structure needed for the National Food Traceability System describing the basic principles for the legislative drafting process as well as the elements necessary for an efficient food traceability system.
AmCham-Jordan Members, Nabil Food Industries Company Ltd. and Palmera dates agriculture and trading LLC, also participated and shared their experience with national food traceability system.
