AmCham Jordan is officially announcing the launch of the Export Growth Pathway Program, jointly designed, implemented and supported by USAID Middle East Economic Growth Best Practices (MEG), with the objective of growing exports of goods and services to the U.S.

AmCham-Jordan is releasing an open- call for all interested companies to apply by filling applications based on the two identified streams (Goods or Services)

Deadline for accepting applications: April 5th ,2021

Duration of Project: 12 months

Cost of Participation:

  • 2500 JOD for AmCham-Jordan members
  • 3200 JOD for  non-members  

What is the Export Growth Pathway Program?

  • EGP is a technical assistance program to diversify and grow Jordan’s goods and services export to the U.S.
  • EGP is a targeted technical assistance program that delivers export enhancing firm-level competitiveness tools in key sectors.
  • EGP is a special program that provides export outreach & promotional activities to Jordanian businesses designed to help access U.S. partners & increase U.S.-Jordanian business connections.
  • EGO targets competitive promising industries that are strong export candidates.
  • The program targets competitive promising industries that are strong export candidates and may include manufacturers of processed food; personal protective equipment (PPE), chemical products such as but not limited to plastic products including houseware, garden and outdoor furniture, detergents, surface cleaners, disinfectants, sanitizers, fertilizers, paints, agricultural-products, dead sea products, pet products, packaging products, as well as informational technology services.

What is the process of the Export Growth Pathway Program?

The EGP is an accelerated 12-month program which has five (5) phases. Therefore,  strong commitment and dedication is required .

Application:

  • Jordanian businesses are invited to submit an application form. The form is designed to collect information about a company and its products. Two different application forms are available depending on the nature of the business (Goods/Services).
  • The application is transparent, fair and open to all willing and interested companies – AmCham-Jordan Members and non-members.

Determination of Eligibility:

  • Companies are shortlisted based on their application form.
  • Early application is advised as there are a limited number of companies that can be on-boarded in this program (20 goods – 10 services).
  • Selected companies may be visited /or interviewed, additional documents may be requested to make the evaluation.

Assessment:

 – Eligible companies will be subject to an assessment against set criteria.

  • Two different criteria have been developed for the program

 – The first is specific to export of goods.

 –  The second specific to trade in services.

  • The developed criteria are heavily dependent on export readiness, and the potentials of success as a result of the project interventions within 12 months.
  • Companies that join the EGP program should benefit from technical assistance jointly offered by AmCham-Jordan and USAID MEG through local, U.S. and international experts.
  • Note: Companies are responsible for paying their own costs related to implementation such as travel costs or trade fair registration fees if and when applicable.
  • Unselected companies will receive a letter outlining the reasons why they were not selected.

Export Growth Plan

Companies participating in the EGP program will be required to sign a contract with AmCham- Jordan that will clearly outline details of the 12 months Technical Assistance program where AmCham-Jordan and Pragma shall/must:

 (1) Provide targeted technical assistance to develop an export growth plan for each assisted company and/or each promoted product that is determined to be a good candidate for export promotion.

 (2) Assist the beneficiary companies with developing new leads for export opportunities.

 (3) Sponsor trade outreach missions and event participation designed to forge dynamic trade linkages and bring trade deals to fruition.

Implementation and Leads Made:

Engage local consultant and international experts to support and work with AmCham- Jordan & Pragma to implement the EGP phases. 

The overall outcome of this technical assistance should result in incremental trade or export leads or deals within 18 months of the start date and provide companies with a custom Export Strategy developed specifically for each company.
