AmCham-Jordan’s Annual Ramadan Iftar 2023

AmCham-Jordan hosted its annual Ramadan Iftar this year at the Fairmont Hotel Amman, with the Guest of Honor, H.E. Ambassador Henry Wooster, the U.S. Ambassador of Jordan, with the presence of H.E. Yousef Shamali, Minister of industry, Trade & Supply and Minister of Labor, in addition to U.S. and Jordanian Government officials.
The Iftar comes annually as a chance to join in fellowship with members, partners as well as U.S. and Jordanian businessmen as to the celebrate the Holy Month of Ramadan. Joining us this year were guests from a U.S. visiting delegation – Republican MainStreet Delegation -, headed by the Congressman Mr. Ken Calvert, along with business and association U.S. representatives.
Welcoming remarks were given by Mr. Samer S. Judeh, AmCham-Jordan’s Chairman, stating that Jordan and the U.S. enjoy a ‘Deep, Strategic relationship”, demonstrated by the Jordan-U.S. Free Trade Agreement (JUSFTA). Adding along, that the strong partnership is also evident in joint business development through bilateral trade and investment. Following by stating AmCham-Jordan’s achievements and successes since last Ramadan.
During the iftar, H.E. Ambassador Henry Wooster affirmed the importance of Jordan’s partnership with the United States. Followed by Congressman Mr. Ken Calvert, stressing pivotal role Jordan plays in achieving stability in the region.
H.E. Yousef Shamali, described the Kingdom’s Free Trade Agreement with the US is one of the most successful agreements signed by the Kingdom, as the agreement covers the service sector, in addition to goods.
