AmCham-Jordan University Students Internship Program 2020-2021: Virtual Forum

Under the Patronage of H.E., the Minister of Labor, the American Chamber of Commerce in Jordan (AmCham-Jordan), the University of Jordan, and Yarmouk University will hold a one-day virtual forum with support from the U.S. Embassy in Amman. This Forum will highlight the successes of the 2019-2020 University Internship Program, launch the 2021 program, and unveil a digital recruitment platform for Jordanian companies and job seekers.

The Forum will bring together academic and public and private sector stakeholders to discuss the changing employment landscape in Jordan and strategies for bridging the academia-industry divide. Topics will include the role internships play in developing work-ready graduates and internships’ contribution to economic development and growth despite challenges posed by the COVID-19 global heath pandemic.

Companies, job seekers, students, civil society organizations, and development partners are invited to attend.

This session will focus on global and regional challenges facing Jordan’s economic development and how public and private entities, as well as civil society organizations, can work together to create sustainable employment.  Points for discussion will include how digital transformation is changing the labor market and how this could impact women economic empowerment in Jordan.
